High & Dry.

Apologies for the lack of blogging recently. I was away in the Peak district exploring and cycling!

I’ve nearly finished the blanket guys! – I’ve been on and off for a while knitting it as my arms start to give out due to its chunkiness. However, I may have shot myself in the foot. In fact. I know I have…

Basically, the pattern says to keep following the pattern till the piece reaches a certain measurement.  But as the pattern is a series of knits and purls, to then changing colour and adding in the loop stitch – It can be quite a long pattern and if cut short, it looks a little strange.

So me being me, I’ve discarded the pattern and gone on a tangent with my knitting.  As if I stopped the pattern where I was meant to, the design would be half finished and would stand out like a sore thumb.

This I definitely could not bear, and I tried to talk myself into coming around to the fact that it’s acceptable but I couldn’t.

So, in this situation, I’ve run out of yarn with 5 rows left… So I’ve ordered another two balls as I need extra yarn to make pom poms for the sides – I’m thinking if I have a lot left over, I might make a nice white beanie.

So I’ll check back in once I’ve completed the 5 extra rows and added the pom poms, then I can unveil the blanket!

I’m so excited, I can’t wait to start using it – Once I realised I ran out of yarn last night, myself, Brad and Nym fell asleep due to its softness and were defenceless under its cuddly wrath.
